The forest lay dark and still under a thick carpet of stars. Whispers of love, destiny, and loyalty blew through the forest, only to be broken apart by Autumn.

"Mama, why are we outside? It's the middle of the night!" A small pup with swirling leaves on it's white pelt scampered through the forest.

"Hush, Autumn," A soothing voice said as a stunning wolf emerged. She was black, with stars all over, and a ball of blue and green swirled on her flank. It was the earth, rotating at the same pace as the real one. "I'm teaching you how to hunt at night, now be quiet, like your littermates,"

Three other pups scampered out of the forest. First was Winter, leaving a trail of ice in her wake. Next came Spring, melting it into slush and making buds spring from the moist soil. Last came Summer, making it evaporate and the flowers burst into full bloom. Autumn picked one and held it in his teeth. He dropped it at Time's paws.

"Such a little gentleman!" Time licked his head and he beamed. Winter, ever jealous, looked furious and small peices of ice started faling from the sky. Time's chest quickly changed to the new weather. She glanced at Winter and smiled. "All of my pups are wonderful!" She added. The snow stopped and they continued on.

She heard them before she smelled them, before she woke up. Naturally, excited pups would probably not sense her if they were preoccupied, so she shifted on the spot beneath a tree nearby to watch amused as four pups and a beautiful wolfess who looked like the canine embodiment of the world itself passed by her. To Blaidd's surprise, each pup seemed to be changing the earth beneath them as they stepped, and she smiled faintly, closing her eyes, breathing deeply, then opening them again to see the world in bright, vivid detail. 

"There you are," she mused, standing up slowly and stretching before shaking off. The blue markings along her body glowed dimly under the dark, tree-obscured sky as she tapped into the earth to check on its health. "Advanced seasonal shift, interesting. I'll have to tell Sien about this!" Blaidd moved through the trees quietly and quickly, seemingly gliding to meet up with the five. She was eager to get to know the other wolves of the forest. 

"Salutations."

A voicecechoed behind her and Time spun around, curling her fluffed up tail around her pups. They squeaked and ice sparkled on Winter's nose as she growled idignantly. Time searched the trees for the wolf.

It was a female. The hairs on Time's back fell back a little bit, but her hackles were still raised as she surveyed the wolf. "Good day," She eventually said softly. "May we ask of your name?"

"Mmm," she approached, head down and ears back in deference of the first wolf. This was not Blaidd's territory, and she knew; she was a strange wolf approaching four young pups, and no matter how friendly any creature could be, she understood the wolfess' reaction. Perhaps, she thought, she should have thought before she acted. Too late for that initial thought now. "Forgive me, I was overly excited. Call me Blythe. I mean no harm, to you or your children." The tall adventurer stopped a few feet from them, but her coat seemed to take longer, flowing forward slowly as though through water instead of air, then settling back down in its natural position on her body. The bright blues in her fur stopped glowing, but her eyes - just as brilliant green - never stopped reflecting just a bit differently in the night full of little illumination at all. They merely went from completely solid, to normal. 

Blaidd had left no prints in the soil itself, instead leaving trace prints on the spontaneously created snow, and those were near-imperceptible in the night. Even now, she was not standing in snow, but on it, which probably made her look just that little bit taller and lumbering. She stood there keeping a straight expression on her lips but inside she was a whole world of excited, still. Her breathing was deep and controlled, and she focused on warming the frigid air as it hit her nostrils from the snow.

Time cocked her head at the newcomers kind greeting. She kept her tail curved protectively around her pups, but she gave Blythe a warm smile.

"Hello. I am Time, and this is Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer," She dipped her head.

Sweet! Blaidd looked down at the pups and then at Time. 

"Winter, Autumn, Spring, Summer. Time," she nodded to the other, her excitement finally bleeding through to her face as her eyes lit up and her smile grew. "A pleasure. How are you all on this beautiful-" she looked around to make sure she was identifying the correct time of day, "- night? Sorry to intrude, I was simply curious about the other life in the forest. It is a vast, collection of trees indeed, home to many wonders I am sure!" Blaidd sighed and zoned off for only an instant as she thought about future adventures. "Anyway."
