EVER CLOSE YOUR EYES
ever stop and listen
Nova had no experience in this thing called a 'pack'. She preferred to call it a family, but whatever they wished to call it, these more mortal wolves.. She cared not. In the end, all would fall into the peaceful rythem she desired. Nova could provide and protect her 'pack'.
But what could she do if outsiders arrived? What was the proper way to greet them? She had left her new friend to her own business, catching prey quite possibly, so she was out surveying her borders alone, but without fear. She knew of no wolf who even had a chance against her, and it wasn't like she couldn't just leave if things did turn violent.
Lost within her musing, she did not at first recognize the footsteps of another, and finally turned to face them with an open, yet dominating stance about herself. 'Now what brings you here, my dear?' she inquired softly, tail swishing about her front legs like a starry black snake. The galaxy on her hip swirled and a small supernova unleashed its force across the fur on the back of her neck. Her pure white, glowing, pupilless eyes looked upon her guest with a strange warmth, curiosity, and above all swirling with secrets that she held behind that swirling fur. 'Don't be shy'

Starborn | Lone Wolf Starborn was lost, and in more ways than one. First, he was lost physically. He hadn't been paying attention to the direction he was walking in, but it didn't really matter. He wasn't headed in any particular direction anyway. Normally, the moment Starborn smelled the presence of a pack he would turn away; he felt that joining a pack wouldn't help him find what he wanted. He needed to know if he'd always feel so homesick when he looked at the night sky. It made him restless, and he wasn't going to settle down until he figured out exactly who he was. At least, that was the plan. When he began to pay more attention to his surroundings, Starborn noticed how beautiful the place was that he found himself in. It was so full of life and soft glow. It was breathtaking, to say the least. For a moment, Starborn considered the idea that maybe settling down wouldn't be so bad in a place like this.. but even then he knew, a place like this still might not give him what he wanted. But Starborn did not think about this for long, because after stepping around the trunk of a large tree, he found himself in the presence of a stranger who he couldn't properly describe in words. It was like the night sky that he loved so much had taken the form of a wolf. For a moment, Starborn could only stare in awe at her appearance. It was certainly something different; he was used to other wolves doing the same for him. The thought that he was being rude by staring had just crossed his mind when the she-wolf spoke, or rather, projected her words into his mind. It frightened him at first, but he managed to compose himself, mostly out of fear of getting into trouble. "I- I.. is this your territory? I didn't mean to trespass.. I didn't catch the scent of a pack, so I thought I'd pass through," he managed to reply. "I.. I can leave if you want me too." The last sentence came out sounding a bit pained. He didn't want to leave. Something about this stranger gave him the feeling that she could be who he was looking for. "Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

Nova had no experience with intruders, but at the same time she was unwilling to turn him away. He seemed lost and afraid of her, and that had not been what she wanted. 'Do not be afraid.. Only I and one other make a home here. This land is my creation and I welcome all who desire to rest within it.' she projected with soft welcoming emotions to let the other wolf under stand that he was okay.
The star dust coming from his feet gave her and indicator as to what he might be, a being such as herself, but far lesser in strength and wisdom. 'I do believe you are as I am, born of the universe.. Perhaps a very recent star coming into being.. You are so small.' She wasn't comparing his size, but his new beginning. He was far younger and far less powerful than she, but he was of a new star and the least she could do would be helping him.
'You may stay if you desire and become one of my clan, my family.. My 'pack' as those upon this planet call it. But there are expectations and rules you must live by, very few but all very serious.' Is this how she was supposed to greet newcomers and allow them into her lands? She knew not if this was right, and she knew Shiver might not be pleased with her decision, but as alpha and the most powerful in the group, she could protect the two of them from whatever danger this young wolf provoked.
'I am to be called Nova. What shall I address you by?' she inquired within his mind, allowing him to answer her instead of finding out for herself. This young one bubbled up curiosity within her, and slowly but surely, she grew to hopw that he would join her 'pack'.

Starborn | Lone Wolf Starborn's eyes lit up at the mention of all being welcome in the land. It began to calm his nerves, both because the she-wolf did not seem hostile, and because her calm nature was rubbing off on him. He was still taken aback by her appearance, which would probably seem odd to anyone watching the two starry wolves. But Starborn had never seen another even remotely similar to himself, and especially not one who radiating with power like she was. He noticed she didn't even bother to speak, she just projected her thoughts into his mind. It made him wonder how much more she was capable of.. and if he would be able to do the same. "As you are? You mean, you know something about what I am?" Starborn asked. Born of the universe.. it sounded right, if what his old packmates said about his origin was true, that as a newborn pup he came down from the night sky. But he wasn't like her. They both had wolf bodies, but while his was made of browns, blues and yellows, hers was like looking into the universe. His ears fell slightly back at the mention of being small. Did this mean he'd have to wait years to be like her? Centuries? He didn't even know if he could physically live that long.. as far as he knew, he wasn't too different from a regular wolf. He needed to sleep, eat, breathe, he felt pain and emotion. He always assumed he would live and die like a normal wolf as well. Starborn's eyes widened slightly when she offered to allow him to stay. Based on what she had said, it sounded like he would be the third wolf in the pack. He never thought he'd leave his small 'birth pack' to join one even smaller. "They call me Starborn," he answered, letting his gaze fall to the ground. "I would be honored to join your pack, if you would have me.""Speech." | 'Thoughts.'

The ground seemed to be different that day to her. Her eyes panning at the ground under her feet. It smelled different. She had been in many different homes, many different lands, both normal, and abnormal. She was used to change, and had a unique ability to spot this change without the visuals. She was just at the edge of it, but tired, and ready to fall to the ground.
Lilithel's fur was glistening in the various openings of light from above. The crimson color fading into a scarlet, and even a brick color. Her white markings were rough looking, swirls of markings and almost symbols surrounded her body. her soft misty colored eyes were staring at the ground. She was close and slowly walking. She seemed lonely.
She had a hopeful look in her eyes, as she looked at the new area. She sniffed around, and had a curious step in her walk. She was in a new area, and it had a very friendly feel. She could hear someone nearby, a pack? after her last encounter she didn't want to encounter an unfriendly pack member, nor a lone wolf.
The two bodies were similar however, and it made her feel calm. None the less she stepped back and thought about how she should approach this area, or if she should find a way around. Bravery could get here what she finally wanted, but it could also greet her with pain. Which lead her to remember the small wound on her flank.

Nova had no experience with intruders, but at the same time she was unwilling to turn him away. He seemed lost and afraid of her, and that had not been what she wanted. The calm that surrounded her, that sense of mind that all things would fall into the order they needed to be, that seemed to slip into the other wolf and bring his fears away. He seemed startled and both curious about her words on how he was like her, but yet.. He was not entirely like her. 'I would not be so bold as to say I know all of your beginnings, nor how this shall all end for you.. But I will look deep into the universe for you, and see where you are, and try to find why you have come here.. In this form, instead of like I..' she projected to him, eyes narrowing as her mind traveled to other places, trying to find him within the cosmos as she spoke once more.
His reply, made her eyes widen with a certain joy, and her extremely long tail swirled between her legs as she thought excitedly of having another member to add to her life. 'Starborn, it is my honor to have you amongst my pack, my family. I will be glad to see us benefit from the skill and knowledge you bring with you. Whatever it may be, I am completely positive it will better all of us and make us ever stronger...'
Then she paused, and looked towards a different direction, where she sensed another standing near them and just watching the two of them. Her white eyes seemed to stare straight through the forest at the other, and even though she was surprised, no fear or irritation ran through her body. She merely turned slightly towards the other, and paused for another moment.
'Come out from there.. I would like to see you.' she projected outwards so that the other and Starborn might hear. Then, for the second time since she came upon this earth, Terra as Shiver called it, she spoke with her true voice. "None of you need to fear me." Her voice was like thunder and the whisper of the wind. It was many voices combined, both male and female, and it made the trees quiver and the wind stop. But once it finished making its sound, all returned to normal as if nothing had ever happened. As if she had never spoken at all.

Starborn | Lone Wolf "You can do that? That's.. everything I've been searching for," Starborn eagerly replied. His entire life, he always felt as though the knowledge was there, but locked away somehow. And worse, he always had the feeling that he was meant to remember it. Maybe, under the tutoring in Nova in her pack, he would remember.. if there was anything to remember. But seeing Nova didn't exactly trigger anything right away, though he didn't really think it would. "Thank you," Starborn replied in response to Nova's welcome into her pack. He did feel he wasn't worthy of the praise, but he wasn't going to say so. "I'm pretty fast for a wolf, and I can see really well in the dark. I think I would make a good hunter. Or.. whatever position you think would work best for me." His tail swished back and forth as he spoke, a sign that he was feeling more relaxed. Even his eyes shined more brightly, though they always did in darker places. Starborn's head snapped to the side when Nova spoke to the hidden wolf, as he hadn't noticed it earlier. For a moment his demeanor changed back to caution, but he quickly relaxed when he realized he was probably safe in the presence of Nova. Unless the other wolf was with her, and this was some sort of ambush.. but the idea left his mind fairly quickly. She wouldn't have entertained him this long if she had harmful intentions. But the hidden wolf still held his curiosity, and he continued looking in the direction Nova had turned to. When his new alpha spoke, it sent shivers down his spine. It sounded like many voices at once, and it probably would have scared him off had he not gotten the chance to speak with her first. "Speech." | 'Thoughts.'
