It was noon. Geisha had slept the day away
resulting in a very empty stomach and a testy attitude. Dainty paws barely made a sound as she walked, their feverish touch leaving small scorch marks in her wake. Ruby red eyes scowered the thick green plumage of plants. how pathetic was this? Left to catching her own food! This was insulting!! Geisha has been on her own for almost a year now, doing what she can to possibly con a meal off of others; today she was having no such luck. Perhaps all the small animals have decided to go into hiding?
Geisha continued her frantic searching, stalking through thickets and old dead fallen trees. Between her and the road ahead life has been..lonely. There wasn't anyone there to tell her how beautiful she was, to ask if she wanted anything. Geisha might even settle for a hello..just as long as someone else knew she was alive; acknowledged her. The quiet babble of a stream making her pace speed up, if there was nothing in the forest maybe there was something in the river. The riverbank was a collection of grey, brown and golden stones; slick and shifting under her steps. Geisha peered over the waters edge, nervous. Geisha didn't like water, and it didn't seem to like her. She pawed the water which hissed from her hot touch. No way she would be able to get her own meal.. Geshia jumped into the middle of the pond. She began yelping, howling, barking; making general sounds of distress, bits of thick red smoke escaped her nose and mouth in puffs like clouds. She wondered who would come to her rescue..

Something was rotten in the state of Denmark. It smelled like smoke, spice, and wolf, and sounded like an overgrown pup yelping. Normally Liath would care just a bit more, but she had just been awoken by such a racket that accosted her ears sharply and made her cringe. Not much could do that, not anymore; but somehow this wolf had managed it. The large, light grey wolf had originally been napping by a tree with the certain explorers of her pack, including her best friend, Loch, when all of a sudden the sounds of a wolf in distress had jolted her awake, and she snarled under her breath as ice spread quickly from where she lay. Instead of melting it, however, she simply stood up and stalked toward the faint sounds of distress, leaving Loch and the other wolves behind to just hope that the seething she-wolf wouldn't do anything rash. Wherever she stepped the ice formed beneath her paws and continued to spread from there, freezing the ground and icing over what low plant life there was in the underbrush of the forsest. She leapt up on fallen logs and launched herself off them as she went, grumpily making her quick way to the stream where she heard all the noise. Nothing can drown in that stream without a great deal of effort, so unless this is a trap, maybe I will let them make the effort. If it is a trap, they have another thing coming. Upon reaching the stream she narrowed her cold light blue eyes and stood there silently observing the wolf in the water while ice continued to form and spread as though it had a mind of its own, extending slowly toward the water. Liath eyed the wolf rather disinterestedly, annoyance all over her face. She, like the wolf back at the resting point, seemed to be able to control smoke and possibly fire. The water sure protested. Perhaps she's stupid.

She has always been a good actor, it wasn't long before someone came to her aid. It was a light grey female, the color of dry ash. She stood on the bank, watching. Geisha started to stand wobbling uneasly and then collapsing in a heap of hissing as the water steamed away from Geisha's heated body. Another stream of cries left her, ruby eyes narrowing on her observer. "Well don't just s-stand there!" She gritted, as though holding back more cries of pain. "My foot it's jammed!" Geisha tugged her right hindleg, it would look to be stuck from her current laying angle. With luck maybe that grey onlooker would come to her aid. Geisha thrashed hard, making it seem like she was struggling with all her might to get free. "I slipped," the explanation slithering off her tongue as she pointed with her muzzle to the small bridge of large, slick boulders. And it was a plausible lie, this woman knew nothing of Geisha; for all she knew, Geisha was a crippled idiot.

And... clumsy... Liath sighed and growled under her breath, but did not move for the moment. "Any creature crying that loudly in the middle of a shallow body of water obviously wants something. Are you dying?" Her voice was flat with a tinge of underlying anger. The ice discreetly melted though, and all that was left as evidence it ever existed was the wetness of the ground as the water seeped in.
She took no pity on Geisha, she had no feelings for the wolf. This was what - as Loch had told her - made her so unapproachable. Liath didn't care, though. Her icy abilities were complimented perfectly by her cold, verging on cruel, disposition and she didn't care. However, she wasn't in the habit of actually making enemies, so after another moment, she waded in after the spicy wolf. She took a look through the water, her expressionless face peering back up at her through the ripples. The water around her grew colder the longer she stayed in and it counteracted the steam that was rising from the other wolf. The smoke however, could not be helped. Not without wind, and she didn't want to blow the air about while trying to see through the already rippling water. "So need help?" She smirked.

There was a fifty fifty chance that her plan would work. Even if it wasn't Geisha's best idea. Ruby reds roamed curiously over the sleek grey lupus who didn't really seem to give a rats ass. How very unthinkable! Everyone was supposed to give a damn about her! Geisha's ears flattened against her skull, the corners of those ebon lips twitched, the snarl forming into a sticky sweet smile; far from kind. "You idiot, of course I want something!"She seethed, jerking her ' stuck' leg for emphasis. All that thick red smoke was proving to aid her, even with the chilling water around her. So she was an elemental too. Geisha adjusted herself into an awkward sitting position careful to make sure her leg stayed stuck. The movement caused the water around them to jerk and splash with loud sizzling sounds. A loud rumble twisted through her gut. It was empty. Maybe she would have a bite of hero's face for an appetizer. "Well, now that you mentioned it I could use some help with this rock.." Geisha grinned, having wedged the leg in question under a large rock during the comotion that she had caused with the steam, smoke and wild splashing just moments ago. At this point Geisha was debating trying to make a friend; her only shot at having a helpful lackey, or starting a fight and trying her luck elsewhere.. She decided to try the friend route- unless things went sour. Rule #1; Always have a back up plan.

Liath wondered if Loch would be too angry with her if she put this animal out of its misery. A dark grin crossed her lips at the thought, and for a moment, she simply leered at the sleek elemental as she stepped back. The angle really was awkward, Liath needed to get a better look even if she wasn't going to help... For scientific purposes, of course. At just that moment, a very slight breeze set in. Liath thanked the moon goddess or whatever her pack usually says, for she was getting irritated by the red smoke. The wolf in general was very irritating, but Liath, as cold as she was, was also logical. She figured that was this wolf's gut reaction out of exhaustion and discomfort, so she didn't snap back.
Moving to a better position and gazing through the water at the source of the problem, she hummed in thought then tried pushing a rock or two with her paw. One budged, it was a start. Huge dark paws pushed as many rocks as would give under the immense pressure of a 500+ pound, huge wolf. Eventually she stopped and looked at the other, waiting for her to try to pull her paw out. She seriously hoped this wolf didn't need help with that at least.

Weight was lifted off her hindleg, one by one the rocks would tumble away. Geisha was starting to perk up, ears no longer close to her skull and a seemingly relieved now. Once every rock was cleared the canine removed her leg. When she stood Geisha made sure not to put any weight on the 'injured' leg, "thanks." A lone word tumbles from her lips, they were genuine. Geisha hobbled back up to the bank "Are there any packs around here?" So far her plan was working. Small talk seemed like a decent mood on her half- she could learn something new, maybe open a new door somewhere. ______ (Ooc: sorry this is so short my minds blank atm).

Now that she wasn't practically choking on the smoke coming from seemingly every frontal orifice of the loud wolf, Liath could again smell the cinnamon again. It reminded her of-- something. She couldn't quite place it. Leaping out of the water in one smooth motion, she landed on the bank a few feet off from the fiery wolf and stood tall, looking her over again. Though smaller, the red-eyed possibly-albino lupine female was clearly more powerfully built than would be expected of the natural pack-idiot. Her doubts were raised as to the true nature of this encounter, but the icy she-wolf decided it was only best to answer as she normally would.
"Not that I know of," she stated simply, and she wasn't lying. Her own pack was not nearby, it wasn't even in the forest at the moment. Only a few of the pack had ventured out with her. "I would not expect this forest to be completely void of packs, however. This is, after all, a large forest." Ice once again began to form under her paws, but it didn't spread wildly as before. Instead, it made thin sheets on the ground in about a two-inch radius from her dark paws and stopped there. Liath was much more calm now, having finally gotten over her initial post-rude-awakening grumpiness. "Are you lost, hot tamale?" Everything she said had a slight hint of a sneer in the tone, was tinged with sarcasm, but this was as friendly as it got until she knew who this wolf was.

Geisha watched the larger female approach, graceful and unhindered. A sting of annoyance rushed through her veins. Geisha hated being flawed. Even if her flaw was all an act. Liath's curious gaze had the pale lass nearly beam with pride, her nose ever so slightly poking upward as a stratified smile slipped across her lips. Liath's words made Geisha upset, again- or..more so. No packs, no scavenging. Well, she better start getting friendly. Was she lost? No, not really she was just somewhere she'd never been before; yet to know- but not lost. "Yeah...you could tell that easily huh?" Geisha's ears folded back slightly, glancing briefly to the ground in what seemed to be shame. "I was hoping to get something to eat before I fell, now I don't think I can manage. At least not until its better." Big, wide ruby eyes found Liath's. Sad, pleading. " Would you be able to help me find someplace to rest or food?" As if on que her stomach roared to life.

"Mmhmm..." the hum was long and lingering, laced with disbelief. Liath, unlike Geisha, was not a good actor. She never had to be, everything she needed to be she could be already. She didn't mind the other knowing that she didn't fully trust her; such a reaction was only natural, and she wasn't going to just leave this wolf out to dry if the hunger was real. "Well, if you would like, I could take you back to where I came from. We have a sort of camp set up, much like that of humans." Her face contorted into a deep look of disgust, her lips slightly curling.
Humans. What an undignified, dirty creation of nature. So-- her thoughts were interrupted by a short telepathic query from Loch, asking where she was and if she needed to be dragged off from a fight. For a second, she perked her ears up in surprise, then she drew them back a little as she responded then glanced at Geisha while she began to slowly stalk off. If the she-wolf wanted to come, she could. If not, she could sprain the other ankle and be a little worse for wear if another wolf came by to help. Liath had offered to help, she couldn't force it on anyone, though this particular creature seemed eager to accept aid. Kinda needy. But, everyone's different. Liath just had basically no patience for clingy-needy types.

You know that feeling you get when you steal candy from a baby? Geisha did, in fact it was washing over from head to toe. Everything had gone off without a hitch. Still, if this forest was as big as...what was her name? Geisha would make a point in asking later, when she wasn't fighting the urge to grin from ear to ear in victory. who needs a crew. I can do bad all by myself! She thought proudly, not sparing a moment to hobble away on three legs after her new found...friend. Geisha would say no more as they walked, focusing instead on the dense woods around them. What would this group of wolves be like? Hopefully more warm than the icy female in front of her.
