You're not good, and that's okay... because you're not bad either.
Blood was everywhere, the warm sticky liquid seeped between Twisted's toes and covered the ground. Twisted's eyes focused on the tawny cats cold dead eyes, its face was relaxed and without any trace of worry. Every time he swallowed the taste of copper and iron pooled in the back of his throat. His tastebuds howled in joy but inside, he was sick.
You're just trying to do the right thing. And sometimes its hard.
As sad as it was this had to be done. A life needed to be taken in order to spare others. Prying his reptilian gaze from the corpse and towards the rainforest where Peregrine had ventured with spot. Without much more thought he darted towards the thick foliage. It was a damp place full of fallen leaves, colorful loud birds, snakes and interesting lizards. The canine sniffed about, following the reminisce of Peregrine's scent. Peregrine..Twisted projected his voice outwards, in hopes one of the two might hear him. Spot..?

Peregrine moved through the jungle with surprising grace. Despite never being in this part of the rainforest, he navigated it as if he knew it like the back of his paw. And it was no doubt because of the robot that hovered behind him. Spot's light glowed faintly in front of Peregrine. The orb never stopped moving, scanning the environment and feeding a direct link of the data collected into the black wolf's brain.
He adjusted his stride to comfortably step over a vine. Peregrine ducked his head naturally under a low hanging branch. The black wolf couldn't help but feel strange here. A place he had never known: Both foreign and familiar. It was humid and his paws felt damp in the rainforest. The sound of birds was almost deafening, but a certain sound picked up, sharpened and enhanced by the robot guide.
Peregrine paused and Spot said his words for him: "Twisted." It was the name of the wolf who allowed them to escape the mountain lion easily in the steppe.
Spot scanned the environment, orbiting Peregrine. The black wolf followed the robot, letting his mind guide him with what felt, to him, like a gut feeling. It was simply the basket-ball sized robot feeding information to him, telling him where Twisted might be.
And soon enough, Peregrine caught sight of the green-maned, alien wolf. Twisted smelled of blood, but what good hunting wolf didn't? The black wolf opened his maw, but no words came out. Slightly delayed, the robot caught up and said the wolf's words for him. "Fancy meeting you here." The words were cheerful, but droll. Well-spoken with a posh accent. Not Peregrine's true voice. Rather, the robot's default voice.

Peregrine
This air was thick, heavy and moist. It felt like he was breathing water, and he was-- sort of. For a few minutes Twisted was alone in this tropical forest. It was so different compared from his homeland, he felt very homsick suddenly. What good would going home do when no one is there waiting? Being home alone sounded more appealing than being reminded of his departed beloved. Twisted hung his head low, lose large oversized ears drooping. How would he get home? And then there it was! Spot's polite polished accent spouting out his name. His long legs were carrying him towards the sound now, the closer he got the more he could hear. It started with the quiet humming and then it was combined with the rhythmic pounding of pawsteps across the soggy earth. Fancy seeing me? A brow arched, head cocking dramatically to one side, those large ears flopping to the side. Did you assume I wouldn't return? Twisted straightened his head now, a purple forked tongue crawling from inside the depths of his lime green mouth where it curled over his lips. Of course you'd be seeing me again, its rude to leave without saying goodbye.. But that wasn't entirely why he'd tracked them down. Twisted still had questions, maybe more than before now. Twisted shook his head around, pawing at the chain his golden heart shaped locket hung from. It slipped off his head and fell with a clatter, it split in two perfect halves showing off the glimmering yellow insides of the alien artifact.

"Well, it wouldn't be the first time. But it's just something I've gotten used to."
Peregrine was normally a polite wolf and easy to get along with, but his history had taught him to keep to himself. That others would hurt him should he show weakness. That he must never show weakness. He hated that Spot had shown a brief glimpse of his past to Twisted. That once he was so broken that his pack had abandoned him in the thick of the woods. No goodbye and no words of parting. He was the shame of the pack, after all.
He sighed silently and Spot said, "Sigh." And that earned the robot a sidelong glare.
His ears flicked to the sound of a clatter. The chain fell and opened up. The insides were yellow and glimmered. He neared it and Spot overtook him and hovered over the artifact. What is it? Peregrine wanted to ask, but the robot was scanning the object and left his words unsaid. Frustrated, Peregrine forced air through his nostrils, which was, at the moment, the only sound he could make: A quiet, frustrated huff.
He did notice that, during this scan, the robot's typically blue light was now gold. After a few minutes, Spot chirped, "Analysis complete."

The locket fell with a heavy clunk. Not only had it served as a symbol of his affection toward a certain someone, but it was also a teleporting device. One that got jammed up on his joyride to earth, and sadly enough one that was or could never be repaired by himself. Peregrine sighed, his face seemed to be set in deep thoughts- sad thoughts he assumed. Are you okay Peregrine? The tall aliens words drifted through the air inba wispy tone, pink eyes settling on the dark canines face. They weren't friends, sure-- but they were sort of friends, acquaintes of sorts..either way Peregrine was the first person Twisted had utter a word to physically or otherwise in years. Did he really want to say goodbye to this almost friendship and continue being alone? No, not really.
A golden light ran up and over his artifact. Scan complete. Twisted looked from his locket to the not hovering just above. Diagnosis? He chirped curiosity. Looks like they may have learned something new about spot.

There was so much information that Spot had in its archives. Peregrine was unable to understand them, let alone access them. And the wolf looked askance to Spot. "Well?" the machine said for him. The black wolf's expression revealed what he felt in his heart: Frustrated and hopeless.
The machine didn't always work for him. It wasn't his tool to use as he pleased and it wasn't its own separate entity either. It was a parasite and he was its host.
"It's not always that..." Peregrine began to explain, but Spot's voice disappeared for the wolf.
"Teleportation device damaged." The robot said. Its light blinked back to blue. "Insufficient materials for repairs."
Peregrine looked to Twisted. "Do you want me to help you find the materials for repair?" It was hard to describe, but Peregrine knew that, should he search, he would be able to find the different parts. He knew that there was some sort of sharing going on between what Spot knew and what he knew--even though he couldn't access all of what the robot knew. He knew he'd recognize the parts, but also knew that he would not be able to name or describe them at this moment.

A cool breeze rippled through the forest, the bleakness of the clouds above suggested a storm was starting to brew. "Yes, insufficient materials- to my knowledge earth doesn't contain what I need...but if you think we can salvage something I'll help." For awhile he studied the device it had been ages since he opened it up. The frame was cracked, most if not all of the wires seemed severed and spit out sparks. In the center was a pale green, almost grey orb of swirling plasma. It was the battery. Almost completely dead. Fist they would need to find something to charge it. Twisted turned his face to the stormy heavens. "If we can get lighting to strike it the teleportation platform will be fully charged making repairs easier.." But getting that to happen would be dangerous, not to mention a seriously slim chance of that happening here. Twisted picked up the chain locket, grinning. "Where do we start?"
Twisted glanced between spot and the troubled peregrine. "Peregrine, would you like to link minds to make talking easier?" Twisted wasn't sure how the words had escaped him, he didn't mean to ask. But the male couldn't help but notice the constant struggle between robot and canine.

Peregrine looked around. There were things he knew that he didn't understand. Things that Spot told him as he hovered. Knowledge that he could just barely access and things that he wished he never had to know as well. The black wolf looked at his paws. He glanced at Spot. There were parts that they could use inside of the little robot, but Peregrine knew that, should he remove them, he'd be at a loss about what to do next. Besides, he enjoyed spending time with another wolf for once. Even if the wolf was an extraterrestrial.
He attended to Twisted's words as the alien wolf looked up through the rainforest canopy to the small swatch of sky above. Lightning brightened the area. And then there was the crack of thunder. "I suppose that would work." Spot spoke for Perry. The storm didn't sound quite like it was overhead just yet.
And then, Twisted suggested they link minds. Peregrine was taken aback. He didn't know Twisted had that ability. His first inclination was to say yes as he struggled with Spot constantly. The robot was not made to speak for a wolf, after all. However, he remembered the brief moment when Spot revealed secrets, pushed memories into Twisted's head. It caused him to be apprehensive.
"Linking minds. It sounds like a convenient proposition. But with a linked mind would secrets be shared?" Peregrine tilted his head. He hoped it came across as an honest curiosity rather than suspicion. It wasn't that he didn't trust Twisted in particular, but it was hard for him to trust anybody at all.
ooc: sorry about the slow response!
