Mission | Lone Wolf "Yeah," Mission replied, eager to get a move on. When the rain began coming down, she started walking with her head held low. Mission had such a thin and flat coat, the water soaked through the same way the snow had. She shook the water out of her fur, all the while trying to stay under the cover of the trees.
Mission followed Draz's lead, hoping he'd remember where the den was. She didn't fancy being soaked before they could find it, or they'd be in for a repeat of the night before. But as they started moving, Mission noticed how Draz looked different in the rain.. more frightening, for one thing. His eyes stuck out the most.

Drazonic trotted around. Why wasn't that den there? It couldn't be. It was true that he had seen it about one year ago, but how could a stone structure just disappear? "Come on, Drazonic, come on..." He told himself in silence as thunderbolts and lightings crossed the sky.
After some minutes, the male looked at Mission, trying to figure out how to tell her that he couldn't find it. "Hmmm... Mission... The den, well... It just doesn't seem to be there anymore . . ." He said, kind of whispering.
He gazed at Mission for a second. Her amber eyes were beautiful and shiny. He felt an intense and vivid warm feeling for a second. "What is happening to me?"

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission risked a glance up at the sky just as a big drop of rain hit her nose. It was better to be rained on down here than be snowed on up in the mountains, at least. Still, she was relieved when Draz stopped moving.. though she didn't see anything that could qualify as a den anywhere nearby. Then, Draz spoke.
"It's.. alright," she replied. She wasn't miserable yet at least, and she'd certainly had those nights before. At least there was another wolf here with her. If she were alone.. well, she didn't really want to think about how unhappy she'd be right now if she were alone.
Suddenly Mission got a strange feeling, and turned to see Draz looking at her. She quickly glanced away.

When Mission turned, Drazonic froze, and then quickly glanced away "Umm... I guess we should get under a pine then..." He suggested, still embarrassed for being caught.
Drazonic moved to the nearest pine with muddy and heavy, tired paws. He sniffed the ground, making sure there were no things such as traps there, and the mud almost made the scars on his nose bridge invisible.
"A-are you cold?" He asked, almost shivering.
[OOC: In real life, under a pine is the worst place you can be during an electring storm xD]

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission nodded, seeing no better alternative. Suddenly, she felt bad about looking at Draz since he seemed uncomfortable now. She wandered over toward the pine tree as he did, and carefully laid down at its base. She could tell the dark mud was sticking to her pretty brown pelt.
When Drazonic asked a question, she looked back up to him and nodded slowly. She didn't really like to admit it, but she was cold. "Y- yeah.. a little bit."

"I think- I think I'm a little cold as well" Drazonic admitted, shivering. He slowly got a little closer to Mission so they could both be warmer.
"At least this is not the Mountains" The male chuckled, trying to make the atmosphere nicer, or at least to exchange some words with Mission. He started grooming his fur with his tongue to clean it up and to get warm, and considered occasionally giving a friendly lick to the female, but was too shy to do that.
His paws were still all muddy and wet, but that didn't really matter to him; Mission was at his side.

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission tensed when Drazonic sat closer to her. It was more like an involuntary reflex than anything. Eventually though, she relaxed. She couldn't help but wonder if Draz was feeling just as nervous as she. At some point though, her need to stay warm and relatively comfortable won over her cautiousness.
She nodded in response to Draz's comment. The mud was uncomfortable but at least it wasn't as painfully cold as snow. And while the male sitting next to her went to work cleaning his fur, Mission became mesmerized by the rain. She got an odd, sort of hopeless feeling from it, and it only took her a moment to realize why. 'Ah, that's right,' she thought to herself, frowning. 'It was raining when..' her mind trailed off, no longer interested in continuing that train of thought. She rested her head onto her paws.

When he finished cleaning his fur, Drazonic looked Mission sitting beside him. Of course she looked beautiful, but she seemed kind of sad or melancholic. "Is everything okay?" He asked, giving her a gentle push of his nose in her cheek.
The male looked up to the sky, which was cloudy and gray. It didn't seem like it was going to stop raining very soon. It would be a surprise if it did. But he was comfortable enough to stay a lifetime, so it didn't really matter. He moved a little closer, his tail brushing hers. He had been planning not to give the very first step, but it was the perfect time for one, and he wouldn't waste the opportunity. "Who needs plans after all?"

Mission | Lone Wolf "Hm?" Mission asked quietly, having been lost in her own thoughts. When his nose touched her cheek, she turned to find him looking at her for a short moment before he glanced up at the sky. She raised her head and did the same. "Yeah, it's nothing," she answered. Now that was a lie, but the matter didn't really concern Draz, so it was best to keep him from worrying about it.
She noticed him moving closer, and it was at this point she was certain of his intent. Or not. Maybe he was just cold, or being friendly. Or maybe she was being oblivious. 'Hey, this isn't right,' a voice spoke to her in her head. Her own voice. 'You're leading him on, and you know what you are. A deserter.'

"Hey, cheer up!" Drazonic said with a soft smile in his face "At least you won't be thirsty" He added with a chuckle, thinking the problem was the heavy rain.
The male continued licking his paws, and gave one or two occasional licks to Mission's before gazing at her again with green, sparkly eyes and wondering what was up with her. She didn't seem happy at all, he was sure of that now. He just hoped Mission didn't leave him alone.
Drazonic had been very happy the last few days, and he felt like Mission would take away the happiness if she went away, but he said nothing.

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission forced a smile in response, but it faded rather quickly. She took one more look at the sky before setting her head back down onto her paws. At least the rain was nice to listen to, despite how uncomfortable she was. She didn't react much to Draz's licking, though it wasn't exactly comforting.
She began to think on all they had talked about. It felt as though Mission knew the main events of most of Drazonic's life. He was born to a low-ranked female, left his pack with his mother and siblings, and never went back. But Draz didn't know much about herself. He knew she was born to a pack in the plains, left with her brothers at a young age, then found a new pack in the forest to live with for some time. She wasn't sure if she could bear to tell him the rest. Especially the reason for her departure.
But it seemed as though Draz was trying hard to cheer her up, and she didn't want to raise suspicion by moping about. So, to keep him talking, she asked a question. One she was actually genuinely curious about. "How did you get those scars?"

Drazonic smiled, pleased for Mission's curiosity on his most recent battle scars. "I had a fight with a one-eyed lynx. I chased it off, but it left some scars on my nose bridge. I was lucky that animal didn't attack my eye, because I would be a one-eyed wolf as well" The male explained, exposing his muzzle proudly. The long claws of the lynx had not only teared his face though, but his nose as well, even if that scar was less visible than the others.
"I hope it didn't have any cubs it had to feed" He said in a whisper, though he didn't really regret the fight. He thought the scars made him look fierce. He let out another yawn and rested his head on his paws like Mission. He felt like he was talking a lot, so he decided not to comment the fight very much. Besides, he didn't want her to think he was a self-centered, did he?

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission nodded while she listened to the short tale. Drazonic seemed more than capable of fending off a lynx, especially a one-eyed one. Maybe it just caught him off guard. She took another look at the scars on his muzzle and confirmed that was what it looked like, a scratch from a lynx.
"Yeah," she said in response to Draz's comment. Then again, if she stopped to consider if every deer or hare she killed had young to care for, she'd never eat. It was just one of those things you had to not think about. That was probably the reason why Mission being such a gentle wolf but also an excellent hunter seemed like such a contradiction.
With Mission out of questions to ask, at least for the time being, she blinked slowly while the rain lulled her into sleepiness. Even though she was wet, cold and covered in mud, she felt safe. She'd almost forgotten what it was like to feel so secure.

Drazonic glared at Mission with happy, parted eyes. He thought she looked happy, or at least in peace. If Drazonic were with his siblings, the atmosphere would result in a deep, sudden boredom. But he was with Mission; and there was no way he got any bored, or even think about anything else, if she was next to him.
The wind blowed through the Pine's leaves, making a weird whisper-like sound, that was at the same time pleasant and relaxing for the black and gray colored wolf. And as he felt in peace, he let his head rest on Mission's back, hoping that she wouldn't mind, but staying silent. For one time on his life, he wasn't feeling awkward in her presence.

Mission | Lone Wolf Mission released a long, contented sigh. The smell of the wet forest reminded her of home, mixed with Drazonic's scent it was very comforting. The negative thoughts still lurked in the back of her mind, but she pushed them aside. Right now, none of it really mattered.
She closed her eyes when Draz rested his head on her back, but she didn't really want to sleep. In this moment, Mission felt better than she had in at least a year. And now, she knew Draz was going to stick with her. They were.. partners? She didn't really know what to call it. It still felt weird to think about, since she'd been alone for so long.
