overall appearance • A lean, nearly gaunt-looking mess of black and grey fur is set upon long, lanky legs and four large paws, two black and two silver-grey. Her eyes - once the color of wheat in late afternoon - have been forcefully altered to resemble city stoplights for which she has no regard. The left side of her face has a huge black splash, which carries a little ways down her neck, and her hackles and steel-colored body contain interspersed black fur patches.

overall personality • Iri is rough around the edges with deep a vein of hatred running through her stony, unemotional attitude. She gets things done and can be very creative with how she goes about it, but she has no time for screw-ups and no patience for delay, having learned early on that stagnation gets you caught and/or killed. She is a realist, not a dreamer, and every once in a while, a pessimist.
Before the change, Iricyan was a low-key scavenger and highly skilled hunter. She still is a highly skilled hunter, and continues to scavenge sprawling cities, but hasn’t learned to control her violent bestial urges yet. The infection took a lot of her sane mind and disintegrated it, leaving a raw, untamed id to battle with the ego and the remains of a super-ego for control. She roams the land with a heart of stone and stares ravenously at all who catch her eye. Should anyone come too close, whether by her own doing or theirs, she will most likely attack them. The smell of raw flesh and blood arouses her, as well as excites her beast mind, which sends her into a frenzied assault fueled by adrenaline and hunger.
When not on the verge of an attack, the lanky but strong she-wolf is just a bit easier to get along with. She’s loyal to those who serve a purpose but will not tolerate blatant rudeness, giving respect where respect is due but ultimately only around to fulfill her own agenda. Iricyan is not a mooch, she earns everything she attains - so she feels - and would gladly share the spoils of her ventures with those who aid in attaining them. However, this is rarely a situation she finds herself in, being so far completely independent, and also being a loner by choice and circumstance.
She doesn't make close friends, and never has, but now it is much harder due to the growing infection in her blood that stripped her of proper hippocampal function. Her interests are a tad strange, and her natural interaction with others tends toward the creepy side sometimes, but it's perfectly fine to Iri.

overall history • Somewhere deep in a woodland, three small pups were born to two large timber wolves. Their youth and innocence were quickly ripped from them when poachers came through and destroyed the den; they killed the parents, the alpha female, and sent the pups into hiding. Too young to understand what was going on, the little fluffy pups wandered with their grandfather, scavenging for food and learning to hunt.
After about a year, each pup knew how to hunt well and live off the unforgiving land. As the natural order of life goes, the grandfather eventually passed away, and her two siblings left to form a pack, while the wiry young she-wolf split to forge her own path without a pack and without a destination. She hitched rides with gruff humans who eventually sought to domesticate her; she left them in the dust, mauled to death and ripped open and rotting on the floor.
A few months into her second year of life, Iricyan found her way to a human city full of other canines, both wild and domesticated. Her curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to stick around, having largely avoided staying in one city for too long in the past. Her first big mistake was being caught. Taken by surprise and disabled with a tranq gun, the she-wolf was dragged off to the Detroit Zoo. Her second big mistake was escaping. By following a simple but effective plan, she and the other captive wolves broke out of their exhibit using primarily evasive tactics, but Iricyan didn't come out unscathed. She received a long cut to the snout which soon became infected with a virus that attacked her mind and changed her inhibitions and instincts, putting her on the grid because she could no longer hold back an urge to attack.
One evening, she ran into an Enchanted, a creature of myth, mystical and elusive. By that time, she had heard a fair amount of stories about such beings. This one held herself tall and proud, a triumphant soldier of the universe, her powerful wing flexing as she stretched over the grass. This unnamed canine with fur of midnight blue and feathers black like the sky she flew, was looking for a companion to join her in an adventure across dimensions. Iricyan, unable to say no to a beautiful female, obliged. With better control of her mind and body, Iricyan began the next chapter of her life.

The speckle-furred dog knew not. His only goal for the moment was to find a way out of the crappy situation he was in, he had gotten his self into.
Through the broken cities the mix-breed dared to wander, striding largely in habitually light step over fried grass and scorched cement, sneezing every so often from the dust and debris that blows around and gets in a dog’s eyes and nostrils seemingly just to antagonize him. The canine growled to the ground, gritting his teeth and drawing his floppy black ears back in annoyance. Could it be? Of course not, no, that is crazy-thought. He shook his head side to side, ears flapping lightly, and continued his way past numerous crumbling buildings, all which seemed identical to him. All dull grey, dusty, broken. Nothing was certain, though, and he did know that sometimes, if he picked the right building, he could find supplies. Once, he could even sniff out the correct building, instead of relying solely on chance, but those days were behind, gone with the comforts of bustling streets and human excess. Indeed. This was the apocalypse.
