Lately, I've been, I've been loosing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could be. 'Cause baby I've been praying hard. Said, no more counting dollars we'll be counting stars. Yeah, we'll be counting stars. I see this life, like a swinging vine, swing my heart across the line. In my face flashing signs, seek it out and you should find. Lausi Lausi walked by the rock structures and snow that the cold Mountains provided. His fur stood out, what made him much more vulnerable. "Come on..." He said as he shook the snow off his light brown fur.
"Where could I possibly find any shelter here?!" Lausi thought, desesperated. He had been foolish. He had gone far away from his house in the steppes. If he could call that a house. He was mostly a wanderer, so he had nowhere to go most of the time. He would likely never go to that den again.
"Ah! Finally" He said as he saw a little den. It was small, but still big enough for two wolves. It would be a good shelter from this blizzard. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

SADIE Were all mountains like this? The terrain was so rocky and steep, and Sadie was a bit lost. She had just come from a place where the land was covered by inches if not feet of snow, and the ice was as frosty as the air. The two organic paws she still had were freezing their pads off, and honestly, the cyborg she-wolf was not having much fun in the wild anymore.
She began to feel like all the discouragement shouted at her and beaten into her by the humans was for the better. How could I be so incredibly blind? Sadie loped quickly over rocks and snow, leaving her prints in the white icy blanket and wafting her scent through the air with a wag of her gold, black and auburn tail. At least my fur is warm and my augments aren't causing trouble, so far.
Sadie padded along quietly, metal sliding dryly against metal, springs creaking softly. So far, she belonged nowhere, and she did not blend in with anything. Her beautiful gold pelt splashed with red and black was still her pride and joy, but were it not for her speed and agility, she wouldn't have been able to catch anything, and she would have already been dead. Her first encounter with a wolf was not so pleasant. Or maybe it was because he wasn't a wolf. He had been overbearing and pompous, and she constantly felt he was going to kill her. Such disdain for those "below" him. Sadie wrinkled her nose with disgust in retrospect. What a foul creature. As long as she was out in the open, anyone could find her. Now that she'd escaped the brute, the she wolf had even more to run from, and being in the open up in a chilly mountain was not ideal. Sadie wasn't built for this kind of weather, not for long.
To her utter surprise and joy, she spotted a kind of shelter a few paces ahead, off to the side. As wind and snow blew around her, catching her fur and freezing the metal on her face, Sadie sighed. Unfortunately, she smelled another wolf. This would not have been such a problem if she hadn't already had a bad experience, so she approached cautiously. "Hello... ? Ahem, excuse me, but... I'm sorry for the intrusion, may I take shelter here?"

Lausi made a violent movement with his head, making his ears bounce at each side of it. He could hear steps, and metalic objects banging against each other, making a strong bell-like sound. After some minutes, he saw the she-wolf enter his shelter. She didn't look like any other she-wolf Lausi had seen, but she was pretty.
"Yeah, sure, come in" He said, kind of surprised by the visit. He didn't think anyone lived in this harsh environment, or get out from their dens with this weather. "Beautiful day today, huh?" Lausi joked. Sarcasm was one more service he offered. Outside, the wind growled furiously and the Storm raged on. He liked cold temperatures, but this was far too much. The ice and snow covered the ground and the few pines and aspen trees towered high and were full of tiny animals like squirrels and birds that were almost desesperate to find a little shelter, and Lausi felt a little sorry for them.
Maybe they would make a good meal later though.

SADIE "Oh, thank you so much!" she replied gratefully, a warmth in her voice that contradicted the frigid weather. As soon as she moved further into the den, Sadie relaxed. She hadn't realized that her muscles - or the remaining ones at least - were so tense until the time when it was time to loosen up. Bright vermilion eyes scanned the small area. There really wasn't much to see, but then, she didn't mind. Her previous existence hadn't been much to observe either. The simplicity of the den was calming, in fact. It was small, but not cramped, just big enough for two wolves. And this was indeed a wolf. Unlike the hulking mass of pompous muscle, rippling beneath grey fur, this wolf was soft and not so big. He even was friendly, and a little bit of a joker. Sadie could appreciate that.
"Oh yes, absolutely divine. It blows me away!" the she-wolf exclaimed. Her ability to entertain was hardwired into her, even though her mind was still her own, and not some replacement box of information. She then inclined her head, brushed her right paw in front of her left in a cordial bow, and spoke once more, introducing herself. "Sadie, at your service, sir," she smiled, though the right side of her face barely moved, and she spoke mainly out of the left side of her mouth. She sounded a bit like Southern diner worker, but spoke with courteousness of a Victorian gentleman.
Clearly this place wasn't the male wolf's normal habitat, Sadie could tell as she sniffed around curiously, ears perked forward. But she did want to know where he did live, and why he was up here in a wild blizzard, snow thrashing against earth and bark and rock as wind whirled and howled.

Lausi chuckled at the female's answer. This was going to be a good company. He wouldn’t die of boredom after all. “Oh, you’re name is as nice as meeting you, Sadie!” He said, talking seriously but with a extra-polite and funny way “ The name is Lausi. You can call me Lou or Lau though. You can even call me the Ink-Tail Sir, madame”
He then stopped to look at the den. “It is more like a hole” He thought. So they would have moles for a while. The more they stayed, the better. He was starting to have fun. “I come from the sophisticated and warm Steppes, or at least I think so. I miss that enviroment, but if I went back, I would be sad to know that this beautiful weathers couldn't be found in there ” He joked, once again.

SADIE Hearing past the wind was hard, even inside the shelter, but Sadie continued to smile nonetheless. "Lausi, a pleasure! Where are the Steppes? I've recently come from a cold, snowy place, about as cold as these mountains are. A Tundra, I suppose." She sat down, curling her tail around her paws. The braces on her front legs creaked a little as she moved, in need of some kind of oil now that the cold had settled into them. This was the longest Sadie had ever gone without at least having her dowels taken care of and still in such use, even if the human who kept her recently was negligent. He hadn't done anything good for Sadie, in fact. However, she also hadn't been allowed to move much, being kept in the house or outside on a chain.
Regardless, Sadie was beginning to feel the effects of her degrading functionality, and it weighed slightly on the back of her mind. But first, fight the cold and make new friends. "Of course, because no home is complete without a blast of snow in the face," she giggled. "How did you get here? I'm a bit lost, myself, having kind of been turned around by the panic I was in a few moments before charging straight into a blinding blizzard."

WHAT KILLS ME MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE AND I CAN'T HELP risking it all Lausi chuckled at the female's answer "It absolutely isn't, my lady" He chuckled, playfully. Sadie made him feel at home in some way, and that was good, as far as he knew.
When would that snow storm would stop, either way? Well, it didn't really matter. All what he could think in that moment was about how cold it was and what to say. "Ahh, is a warm zone, I mean, the one I come from. The tundra is chilling cold, though. And tell me, how did you get all that metal over you?" He joked

SADIE Sadie seemed to get lost in thought for a moment, sitting there with her head tilted slightly up and a distant look in her eyes. How did she get the metal? She loved speaking about the clock maker. He was her favorite human of all the ones she'd met. "They're augments. Or at least, the braces are. The clock-maker and his mechanic friend fixed me up real nice," she replied cheerily, puffing her chest out a little and sitting tall. "He found me when I broke, and helped me get better. All the strange ticking noises coming from those contraptions he made-- well they were very odd indeed. He told me the reason he made clocks was so humans could tell the time. I never understood why they needed to put such defining parameters on existence. The flow of life forward is not something that should be rushed. Ahh... " Sadie's train of thought veered off course and she remembered her braces which were beginning to act up. She lifted her front paws, one at a time, and stretched her legs a little, listening to the grate of metal on metal and feeling the resistance.
At that moment, a howl erupted somewhere far away, a loud, bestial sound made even more haunting by the blow of the wind. It carried through the air and even made the young golden she-wolf cringe. She didn't like how it sounded, raw and savage. Nothing like the smooth, if a bit eerie, call of a true wolf. This one seemed to be a rally call, and Sadie could only imagine what they were rallying for. Ears pricked and eyes wide, the cyborg crept slowly to the entrance of the den, keeping low. "Did you hear that?" she whispered.

WHAT KILLS ME MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE AND I CAN'T HELP risking it all Lausi raised an eyebrow "How? Humans are so weird. So interesting though, always full of surprises, like a box" He commented, confused. After a while, he heard that unusual, raw and savage rally howl, and twitched his left ear.
"Yeah... unfortunately I did hear that" The male answered, a little nervous "I wouldn't like to get you scared, Miss Sadie, cyberwolf with the knowledge of the Human Clocks, but that didn't sound very nice. It sounded very savage indeed" He added, still playing the 'over-polite' game.

SADIE Another shudder ran down her spine and fur stood on end as more yelps and howls came, some even closer than the first. She backed away from the entrance and slunk to Lausi, head down and ears low, pressed against her head in nervousness. "More are coming... " Sadie didn't like this at all. Having just escaped by the skin of her teeth from the big brutish lycan king - rather, this was how she felt of their parting - the small she wolf was still in the mindset of being followed; she was paranoid that this was just what was happening. Now there were even more creatures to run from, and Sadie stuck close to Lausi who she deemed in that very moment, her new best friend. In fact, she never really had a best friend other than the clock maker, who was also in a way her master, though he never acted so pompous as the "gentlemen" in their fine clothing with their fancy pocket watches. Anyway...
Sadie shook the thought from her mind, pushing others away and focusing on the present danger. "What should we do? I mean... this blizzard is quite loud and surely no scent could possibly stay on the air for long. So-- I mean we should be alright, correct? Sorry, sorry... " she mumbled the last, trying not to shake violently as she huddled at the back of the shelter near the male. Just his presence, the presence of a friendly being, was comforting, so Sadie tried to keep herself on that thought. After a while, the raucous howling died down, and the female tensed up. At least when she could hear them, she knew where they were, how close they had gotten. Now their location was complete mystery. Sadie was on the verge of having flashbacks of a darker time.

WHAT KILLS ME MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE AND I CAN'T HELP risking it all Lausi looked at Sadie. She looked nervous, scared even. "Don't worry, Sadie. Nothing bad will happen to you as long as I'm here" He said, trying to comfort her. Chances were that the furious wind and the raging storm would erase both their sounds and odors."Besides, you're right. The snow storm will erase all clues we're here. It would be weird if they found us" Lausi said, as thunderbolts and lighting completed the atmosphere. He moved closer to Sadie, giving her a quick nuzzle to cheer her up. It was surely an horrorific experience, the one she had had with those wolf things (if they could be called like that), and Lausi didnt doubt that this beings would be able to slash with large claws and tear with long fangs, though he didn't say it.

SADIE Wherever this wolf had come from, he was a miracle or something. Sadie was still very shaken up about the creepy howling and the sudden lack of such, but at least she had another furry friend to cuddle up next to. And he was nice! As thunder cracked overhead, the golden she-wolf flinched and dared to press close to Lausi, who was still a bit of a stranger. He was very warm and smelled very nice, and of course he exuded politeness, at least so far. She trembled a little but otherwise was calming down, listening to Lausi's reassurances and the stormy weather outside.
Despite being stuck in a small cave during a violent storm with nowhere to go and only each other to hold, the clockwork wolf was beginning to enjoy herself. She loved to watch storms roll in and overtake the city with water that seemed to come from nowhere. Of course, she knew where the water came from. Being a man of science, the clock maker's friend who had helped patch her up had also shown her a few things in his shop and took her on as a sort of apprentice. 'Highly intelligent, for a beast,' he would always chuckle and then he'd ruffle her fur good naturedly. He taught her about the basics of nature where her kind typically belonged, and about elementary sciences, easy physics like the concept of kinetic energies and momentum. Obviously, Sadie couldn't measure such things, but the concepts were easy to learn and useful to remember. She listened as the weather raged around their shelter, a faint smile on her lips as she began to breath easier and relax. "Do you like storms, Lausi? I absolutely love them... "
Meanwhile, the gathering of beasts that could be heard earlier howling were prowling the land, but only two dared to walk into the storm upon the mountains. They stalked forward on heavy paws, pushing against the wind resistance of nature, and made their slow ascent on the mountainside. Neither could tell where Sadie had gone, but they figured with a little searching, they'd find her. And then bring her back, and should they find another wolf trying to defend her, they'd tear it to pieces.
Fortunately for Sadie, the storm was only getting worse outside.

WHAT KILLS ME MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE AND I CAN'T HELP risking it all Lausi smiled. It seemed like they were gaining thrust and, so far, Sadie was his best friend. He had never really liked any Wolves. He used to be very popular in his Pack. But these were not real friends. Of course he would mourn their deaths, but they were far beyond being his friends.
Lausi used to hate being alone then. He kind of used his 'friends' so he didn't look like a lonely wolf that did not have anyone to talk with. And it was true, he was. But he was so self-consicious it would have been Impossible to live in his Pack without what he called the 'Mask'. And like that he had made that Mask be what females would like in a male. Of course, he didn't use the Mask with Sadie. Sadie was real.
"I really like Storms. They're soothing. I love thunderbolts and lightings” Lausi said, strerching his front paws a little bit.
OOC= I don't know if you noticed that in this post Lausi is like a reflection of myself when talking about personality and friends ]

SADIE "Yes!" she cheerily agreed, maybe a tad overhappily. In fact, the possibly only reason the she wolf was not just a shivering conglomeration of fur and gears was because she had someone to talk to, someone whom she could just be herself with. Despite having grown up learning all about how to please others for their enjoyment and at the expense of her own sometimes, Sadie had never really learned to like it. Oh yes, she could charm the wits off a man if she tried, but it felt so shallow and so inauthentic. So, she clung mentally to this new being, neither man nor brute, but a real male with a real heart. Sadie knew what a real heart looked like, even if it was damaged.
"I especially enjoy watching as the lightning flashes across the sky and illuminates the land intermittently. What a beautiful world it is when lit by nature's power," she nuzzled Lausi. He felt warm, not just physically. There was something about him that just emanated unseen light. She had only felt this way with one other being she had ever met, and that was the clock maker. He had been a sad soul, but a warm man if you were lucky to see it. She had loved him dearly, and always thought fondly of her time with him, of course. Perhaps one day she would find someone to love again. Perhaps she already had.
Not too far away, two very lost and confused animals pressed through the wind and precipitation, continuing up the mountain on the path of an unseen female who was never going to be found. They began to wonder if they should wait the storm out, as their pelts were not thick enough to withstand the harsh storm. Lightning struck. It hit a tree nearby and, were it not for the current blizzard, probably would have caused a fire. Almost instantaneously, thunder rumbled overhead. The two beasts resolved to find shelter to wait. This was never in their daily plans, wading through a storm was a death sentence. They sniffed around futilely until one of them just happened upon a small, cramped space in between a couple large rocks, where they both stayed put.
Sadie watched as the world outside the temporary en was lit up, smiling, eyes wide, and then heard the thunder. It was indeed very soothing to a wolf who liked the sound. She knew a few creatures who were disturbed and anxious when a storm hit, and was glad she loved storms. The relative silence was also calming to the colorful female. Listening to the storm outside and feeling the presence of a kind soul near her put her in exactly the mood she needed to be in. Relaxed, cozy, and thoroughly enjoying her time in the dark shelter lit only by the cold outside and warmed by the bodies within. An excellent day for a cup of tea...

WHAT KILLS ME MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE AND I CAN'T HELP risking it all
Lausi dipped his head in agreement. "Yes, thunderbolts and lighting are great. I always wondered how it must feel like having the capability of running with such speed" He said, almost thinking aloud.
He remembered watching the lightings from the den his Pack had provided him for a long time, and then letting out a sad, lonesome cry, pointing his snout to the skies and occasionally raising his left forepaw. "Know what? You're my very first real friend, Miss Sadie, beautiful clock she-wolf with vermilion eyes that comes from the clockman's place" He muttered almost to himself, still playing over-polite and trying to be ultra descriptive that time. And he wasn't shy of saying those words. In fact, he had called many females beautiful as well, but he had never really meant it until then.
Now the raging storm and threatening wind hurled snow everywhere, but he wasn't annoyed by it. In fact, he was glad he could be near to Sadie even if he still secretly longed the warmth of his den.
